As you may know, last Friday, June 29, a huge storm barrelled through the mid-Atlantic states, bringing fierce winds, lightning, and rain, and leaving behind fallen trees, damaged buildings, and no electricity for thousands of people - 500,000 in West Virginia alone. Well, we did NOT lose our power - we live at such a high elevation, a lot of storms don't affect us. So while the rest of the county may be without power for a week or more, here we are, high and dry ...which brings me to my big project this week. Most of my family lives in the no electricity part of the state, so they took themselves to a hotel for a few days, and my dear sister gave me most of the contents of her meat freezer. Since the bulk of it was in the process of thawing, we are going to cook. and cook. I am making meals and freezing them for later, and would love to share my recipes with you as I go.
