This Memorial Day Weekend sure has been a good one for scavengers! Yard sales everywhere, and then there was an auction Saturday evening. I never spend much, prefering small items (translated cheap) and box lots. The box lots I leave to my DH, Steve. He can't resist when something gets down to a dollar bid, lol. I think he spent six dollars, and we came home with the explorer full of boxes and bags. One box was dishes and whatnot that I bought in the actual auction, the rest was his 'stuff'. This evening I spent a couple of hours sorting through the boxes. One box to keep, one box for others to go through, and a LARGE trash bag, lol. Tomorrow I'll post some pictures of my little finds. Some of the items I am keeping will go into my sewing room/studio to become part of some future project. One or two items I will keep, and the rest will go to the booth at Red House.
I'm so anxious to get back to sewing - I have several ebay launches that are coming up, and a special project for my niece too. She is expecting my little namesake in July, and I am making her a sundress and also one for her daughter Abby, who is 3. I'm thinking of using some of the Jennifer Paganelli fabric I posted above for them. I am so crazy about that first green and purple print. I'm just waiting for measurements, and I'll be ready to start. I also have a skirt to make for the Hundred Skirt Projet, which you can read about in Vintage Threads, a wonderful blog by Charity in Alaska. I'm doing a 2X and had hoped to mail it to her earlier this month, but as usual, life happened. I think its a wonderful project, and I'm really excited about participating.
So, until later....................
